10/20
is NCLC 7 in writing

IRCC converts your TCF writing mark: 10–11 is NCLC 7, 12–13 NCLC 8, 14–15 NCLC 9. We show you where you stand on that table.

5
criteria, like the examiners

Task fit, coherence, development, vocabulary, grammar. Each is rated on the CEFR scale with the reason, so you know what to fix first.

120
words means 120, not 121

Outside its word limits a task is « A1 non atteint ». The editor counts the way the exam does and warns you before it costs you.

The three writing tasks

Questions candidates ask

Is this the official TCF Canada?

No. Objectif 7 is an independent practice tool. Every topic is original and written in the official format; we never publish real or « remembered » exam subjects. Only France Éducation international issues TCF results.

How accurate is the score?

It is an estimate. The AI rates five criteria on the CEFR scale and we convert them to a mark out of 20 with the official bands. We test it against texts of known levels before every release. Expect a margin of about one band, as between two human examiners: use it to see your weak points and your trend, not as a promise.

What mark do I need for NCLC 7?

10 out of 20 in writing (and the same in speaking), plus 453 in reading and 458 in listening. IRCC uses your weakest skill, so all four must reach NCLC 7.

Can I correct a topic from my own book?

Yes. Choose « My own topic » in the simulator and paste the instructions (and the two documents for task 3).

Is my text private?

Your text is stored in your account so you can see your history, and is sent to our AI provider only to be marked. It is never published or used for advertising. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time.
